Captain Ann Pletschke, CMMar FNI
Ann Pletschke has over 25 years’ experience across both seagoing and shore-based maritime leadership roles. A Chartered Master Mariner and Chartered Marine Technologist her career has included command of DP anchor handling vessels alongside senior positions in marine standards and autonomous shipping development. Since 2013, she has led her own marine surveying and consultancy business, primarily conducting offshore vessel vetting inspections and navigational audits.
She is currently the Project Lead for the STEER Project, a Lloyd’s Register Foundation funded initiative delivered by The Nautical Institute, examining the impact of emerging and existing technologies on seafarers, with a focus on safety, skills and wellbeing. Her focus is on ensuring that technological advancement genuinely enhances safety, professional judgement, and seafarer wellbeing.
