Angus Ferguson is a dynamic maritime professional and entrepreneur, renowned for his innovative contributions to digital education in the maritime sector.

With a career spanning over three decades, Angus has a rich background in maritime training and education, beginning as a cadet with Denholm Ship Management and progressing through various roles.

In 2019, Angus founded Onboard Maritime, an edtech company focussed on creating opportunities for maritime professionals to learn and progress their careers.

Under his leadership, the company develops digital education pathways and launched a successful Cadet Development Programme, now supporting over 700 cadets worldwide. His efforts have been recognised with the UK Maritime Awards’ Start-up of the Year in 2022.

Angus’s passion for education is evident in his extensive work developing curricula and courses for institutions such as the City of Glasgow College and his consultancy role helping to establish the National Maritime Academy in Saudi Arabia.

He is also the author of “Seamanship Notes,” a key text for aspiring mariners.

Angus has a reputation for driving innovation in maritime training, blending traditional learning with cutting-edge digital methodologies to make education more accessible and efficient globally.
