Christopher L. Aversano is a maritime executive with over 30 years of diverse experience. His journey began as a deck cadet at State University of New York Maritime Acadmy (Fort Schuyler) and progressed through roles from deckhand to second mate on US-flagged tankers for Mobil Oil.
Mr. Aversano’s career is distinguished by his tenure at Veson Nautical, a commercial maritime freight management platform, where he has driven strategic business development, significant revenue growth and enhanced client profitability. His background in ship brokering and vessel operations has provided him with a deep understanding of maritime trade and client relationships.
As Principal Product Manager at Veson Nautical, he has led multinational, cross-functional teams in strategic product launches, aligning product management with organizational goals.
Mr. Aversano is the host of The Last Dinosaur – Maritime Shipping in the Digital Age, a podcast exploring maritime shipping and digital technology. This bi-weekly podcast is now in its third season and has over 75 episodes.
Mr. Aversano holds a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Maritime and an MBA from American University. His commitment to the maritime community is evident in his role as Immediate Past President of the Connecticut Maritime Association, where he led the non-profit through COVID.
